Today is shaping up to be the WORST DAY EVER.

My dog's dead, and when I woke up this morning I hazily brought my laptop into the bathroom to check my email (i do that, don't judge) and I guess... I didn't put it all the way on the counter or something?

My laptop, precious precious Majel, who kills batteries like Shiva, fell off the counter, which is at working height, not vanity height (that means it's tall as a kitchen counter) straight down the side, and WHAM smack down on the hard solid floor, completely perpendicular to the ground. The front end is all compressed, like a car accident.

It won't close and the sides have buckled a little and the frame around the screen is gaping in the bottom.

Luckily, Majel still works. So right now I'm backing her up like CRAZY. But I'm going to lose my legal copy of photoshop!!! And Illustrator and whatnot. That shit is like a bajillion dollars! And I'm going to lose, you know, my TWO THOUSAND DOLLAR COMPUTER.

I guess I can still use her.... She's just all.... crumpled? She seems to be working fine but these things are sensitive as all get out.

Ugh. Hopefully most of my data will survive. But I'm typing this on my Windows box. It runs... Vista.

I'm gonna die.

Jesus, that sucks! :( I'm sorry. It seems like everyone's having a shit day.

WRT Photoshop and Illustrator -- Uninstall them and de-register them, and you can install using the same CD Key on a new computer. :)

This.

Although that's only true for mac to mac and windows to windows.

Unless you have another mac you can't transfer the license I don't think.

aww that's so horrible about your computer busting!

Windows is yucky! I've actually not used Vista or 7 at all yet because my computer at work is XP.

Did your dog die recently?!
