shopping list for tomorrow:

formal clutch purse that goes with both outfits
hair pins, NOT bobby pins
fancy wide barrette
2 casual but very photographable outfits, one of which is airplane-level comfy. ie: one pair of pants, two blouses, one vest/sweater/warm thing, maybe a skirt+tights situation, depending.
new pajama pants + maybe a pajama top
lipstick that is non-whorey
that hair-slicking/smoothing/magic stuff
non-hideous dangly earrings if they can be found

Today I made parmesan-crusted chicken piccata and broccolini with garlic and balsamic sauce from scratch. I messed up the pasta but it was still pretty good. I declare myself officially Competent in dishes that involve browning chicken, taking the chicken out, making a sauce in the pan, and putting the chicken back in.

My mom is upset about my twittering because she doesn't get to read the other half of the conversation and she doesn't get a lot of the abbreviations. Mom, it's okay. I can promise you that Absolutely Nothing Important Ever Happens on Twitter. Seriously.

(Hey newb friends, did you know my mom reads my LJ? While she's procrastinating at her job running a church? And she's Jewish? And I even made her an LJ account so she could read my f-locked entries back when I was doing that all the time? I know. It's ridiculous.)

That sounds like a really good meal! You're far more culinarily advanced than I am because I basically make pasta and hamburger helper.

lol at your mom. My mom works with computers, so she's pretty internet savvy, but I don't think she would ever think to stalk me on the internet.

Just wanted to say love your icon. I'm such a Doctor Who nerd.

That sounds delicious!

Also, hi Mizu's mom!

I think it's cute your mom reads your LJ. My dad's pretty computer literate and internet savvy, despite stubbornly clinging to dial-up, but he would never get an LJ/Facebook/Twitter account. It's just not the sort of thing that interests him.

There are hairpins other than bobby pins? What do they look like?

I'm impressed by your skills in the kitchen. I can cook a lot of things, but I'm not so good with poultry.

If my mom knew I have a twitter and a LJ, she would go psycho. She does not approve of all things internet.

I second the person who said they love your icon. I don't think you can ever go wrong with daleks and tea.
